you killed me first in winter/spring 2010

The You Killed Me First subversive film series will resume on Saturday, January 30th, 2010 at 8 p.m., with Chantal Akerman's Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975). This 201-minute film is focused solely on the daily routine of the middle-class & middle-aged widow Jeanne Dielman, played by Delphine Seyrig of Last Year at Marienbad and The Discrete Charm of the Bourgeoisie fame. This Friday, October 23rd, at Cinema 21, some friends of the series will be screening their porno Read My Lips as part of HUMP! You should come to this if you'd like, but we will not be screening a film this Saturday, October 24th.

week six: casual fridays

On Saturday, October 17th, we will be watching TV Carnage's Casual Fridays (2000). Détournement in its finest form — by boiling hundreds of hours of television from the last two decades into a 110-minute clusterfuck, TV Carnage turns the culture industry on its head.

week five: themroc

Saturday, October 10th, at 7 p.m., we will be watching Claude Faraldo's Themroc (1973), a working class rant containing absolutely no intelligible dialogue.

week four: the idiots

The hilarious situationist film Can Dialectics Break Bricks? (1973) will be screened on Saturday, September 26th, at 8 p.m. All are welcome.
